THE CBD TINCTURE DOSAGE GUIDE
Salunabis CBD tinctures are versatile and can be used both orally or topically in both humans and animals. They are offered in 5%, 10% and 25% potencies, allowing you to more accurately customise your wellness routine.
Orally: Use our CBD Dosage Calculator to estimate the right dosage for oral consumption. Please bear in mind, however, that your endocannabinoid system is as unique and individual as you are. So, unless you are a frequent CBD user, it might take a few trials at the beginning before you find the right dosage for your purpose. The more you get accustomed to using CBD however, the easier it will become for you to adapt your dosage to meet your requirements.
Using the pipette, place the required number of drops of the CBD tincture under your tongue and allow to absorb for sixty seconds before swallowing. The CBD and other cannabinoids enter the bloodstream directly through the mucous membranes in the mouth without having to be digested via the gut.
Alternatively, add a few drops to your favourite beverages or meals. Please note that in this case, a higher dosage might be required as some of the CBD will be lost to the gut acids.
For most, CBD takes effect up to 30 minutes post-consumption. After the CBD has reached its peak and is leaving your system (usually around 4 hours) you can modify the dosage accordingly if necessary.
Topically: Gently massage a few drops of the tincture into cleansed skin or infuse a few drops into your favourite face or body lotion.
In order to be able to better track your progress and find out what works for you, it might be beneficial to keep a regular routine, taking the tincture at the same time everyday over a period of 4-6 weeks and keep a journal to record the effects of each dose.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO OVERDOSE ON CBD?
According to the WHO, it is virtually impossible to lethally overdose on CBD and Clinical trials have prescribed CBD doses up to 1,200 mg (equivalent to about 2 x 5% bottles) daily for months, without observing any serious side effects.
Whilst there are relatively few side effects of using CBD, some users have reported mild diarrhoea, low blood pressure and drowsiness. For this reason, if you are new to using CBD, we advise to try it from the comfort of your home in order to safely observe how your body reacts.
In addition, both CBD and grapefruit inhibit cytochrome p450, so take extra precautions if you are on a medication that comes with a warning not to consume with grapefruit, such as with some cancer medications.
As with any new supplement or lifestyle change, be sure to consult your doctor or health care professional before introducing CBD into your wellness routine.
